Our Strategy: Three Pillars for Impact
1
IDENTIFY
OBJECTIVE
Identify effective social protection measures that mitigate climate risks and strengthen resilience of groups in vulnerable situations.
KEY ACTIONS

• Mapping existing national programs and systems
• Co-creating country pathways for climate-resilient social protection
2
QUANTITY
OBJECTIVE
Quantify selected impacts of climate change on people and livelihoods of at-risk populations to support evidence-based policymaking.
KEY ACTIONS
• Applying ESCAP’s LNOB tools and CGE models to estimate climate impacts on people and livelihoods
• Simulating how social protection can mitigate poverty and inequality under climate stress
3
Strengthen Cooperation
OBJECTIVE
Strengthen cooperation across the region to share good practices and build capacity in harnessing social protection for building resilience to climate-related events and policy impacts.
KEY ACTIONS
• Regional workshops and the development of an Asian and Pacific roadmap to foster more climate resilient and inclusive social protection systems
